General information only
The content on formatorinstitute.com, including articles, podcast episodes, downloads, course descriptions, and emails from us, is general information about private household childcare. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, tax, or employment advice. It does not account for your household, your child, or your employment situation, and the law on household employment differs from state to state. Before you act on anything you read here, talk with a professional who knows your circumstances: a pediatrician or physician for medical questions, a licensed mental health clinician for psychological concerns, an attorney or accountant for legal, tax, or employment questions.
Dr. Schwager's credentials
Dr. Ginny Schwager holds a doctorate in psychology. The title "Dr." reflects that academic degree. Dr. Schwager is not a licensed psychologist, and The Formator Institute™ does not offer psychological services, psychotherapy, or any licensed clinical service. Her training informs our work in childcare training, assessment, and management; it does not make our services clinical.
Reading this site, listening to the podcast, taking the course, or working with us in coaching or family services does not create a therapist-client relationship, a psychologist-client relationship, or any other clinical relationship with Dr. Schwager or anyone at The Formator Institute. We do not diagnose or treat any condition.
What our services are, and are not
The Certified Formator™ program is professional development training. It is not a license, a state certification, or a qualification for any regulated profession, and it does not guarantee employment, placement, or pay.
Our assessments are not clinical. The Examination & Certification course measures a learner's command of the course material. The Formator Assessment™, our family service, is a review of how a household's childcare operates. Neither is a clinical, psychological, developmental, or educational assessment of any child or adult. If our work raises a question about a child's development or health, we say so and refer the family to the right professional.
Group Coaching and one-to-one coaching are professional development for people who work in private household childcare. They are not therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment, and they are not a substitute for any of those. If a participant may need clinical support, we encourage them to seek a licensed professional. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Child safety
Children's safety comes before confidentiality. If we have reason to believe a child is in danger, we may contact the appropriate authorities, and nothing in our agreements or policies prevents that.
Results vary
Results depend on the people involved, the household, and how consistently the approach is applied. We do not promise a particular outcome for any family, nanny, agency, or learner. Testimonials describe one person's experience rather than a guarantee of yours. Where a person received complimentary access or another benefit in connection with their testimonial, or is a coach, contractor, or relative of ours, we say so where the testimonial appears.
Podcast and guests
Guests on The Formator Podcast speak for themselves. Their views are their own and do not necessarily reflect ours, and a guest's appearance is not an endorsement of their services by us or of ours by them.
Other sites and third parties
We link to other sites and name tools, books, and organizations we find useful. We are not responsible for their content or their advice, and a mention is not an endorsement.
